Louis 14 black baby11/7/2023 Louis reportedly had a “Moorish page” in his service whose wife was quite pretty she also happened to have a daughter around the same time. Historians disagree on whether or not Louise was actually the daughter of Maria Theresa or (more likely) the child of her husband, the philandering Louis XIV of France (who produced at least sixteen bastards in his lifetime). Louise seemed to believe she was indeed royalty, for she once greeted the Dauphin as “my brother.” She was later given a pension by King Louis XIV which could suggest some connection to the royal family. She is mentioned in contemporary accounts of no less than six writers. An amusing, albeit likely fabricated story, by Madame de Monstespan recounts that the baby was born after a black dwarf named Nabo had “once frightened, and that the incident caused the child to be born black.” The child’s name was Louise Marie Thérèse and she was a Benedictine nun whose portrait currently exists in the Bibliothèque Sainte Geneviève in Paris. Though she was famed for her “virtue and piety”, courtiers immediately began to gossip that the deceased queen had born a child known to history as Mauresse de Moret (The Black Nun of Moret). On July 30th, 1683, Maria Theresa of Spain died. Thus we have the tale of the “queen’s black baby.” But not all queens wanted to conform to this ideal and a few were known to have taken lovers. & Associates, Inc.Louise Marie Thérèse: The Black Nun of Moretīastard children born of kings, emperors and princes were a common sight throughout history their royal consorts were expected to be faithful and disregard their husband’s indirections. dba Pathways to Wellness Medication ClinicsĬommunity Action Partnership of Madera County TMX Finance Corporate Services, Inc., on behalf of itself, its parent TMX Finance LLC and its affiliates, many of which operate under the brands “TitleMax,” “TitleBucks,” and “InstaLoan” (collectively, “TMX”).Īdvance America, Cash Advance Centers of California, LLCĬounty of Los Angeles Department of Public Social Services Vivendi Ticketing US LLC d/b/a See Tickets The Commerce Insurance Company (MAPFRE Insurance) Texas Medical Liability Trust on behalf of itself and its affiliates, Texas Medical Insurance Company, Physicians Insurance Company, and Lone Star Alliance, Inc., a Risk Retention Group (collectively “TMLT”).
